Looking Out On Sammamish

I define my home by the lake that is in my backyard.

Lake Sammamish in King County Washington State is where I grew up.  Spanning eleven kilometers in length and two kilometers wide, the lake hustles with activity.  Large volumes of yearly rainwater supply clean water to the streams and aquifers, and the people and animals alike love it.  Animals such as the Great Blue Heron, Golden Eagle, Bald Eagle, Belted Kingfisher, Canadian Geese and River Otter inhabit the lake.  As a resident living on the lake, I am reminded everyday that I must work to be apart of the solution that helps keep this lake clean and thriving for all wildlife.  With growing urbanization and the pavement of wooded trails happening there is a higher impact on the lakes biodiversity, but if we work together we can continue to keep Lake Sammamish a place we call home.

I encourage you to look out, appreciate where you come from and be apart of the solution.
